Specialized services for International Patients

International Healthcare Center coordinates comprehensive services for patients from around the world. We provide seamless referral services ensuring that patients with complex medical needs, such as interdisciplinary consultations, second opinions, diverse treatments as efficient and comfortable as possible. 
 

Services for international patients include:

  1. Medical Coordination:

    • Scheduling of procedures & appointments

    • Escorting patients to appointments

    • Facilitating communication between referring physicians and medical staff in Shin Kong Hospital

    • Organizing global air ambulance, ground ambulance, or other emergency transport services for critically ill patients

    • Medical reports, records and certifications coordination

    • Assistance to accompanying family members during the hospital stay

    • Follow-up care planning.

  2. Languages
    We have coordinators who can speak English, Japanese, Cantonese, French, Palauan, and Chinese. We can translate all the documentations, such as letters of consent, discharge instructions, and other medical documents for treatment into the appropriate language for the patient’s convenience. Special arrangements may be available for other languages.

  3. Visa & Passport Information
    We are committed to assist the patient to obtain a medical visa and provide necessary documentation for the medical treatment. However, the final extension of the visa is under the decision of the corresponding embassy or consulate. Shin Kong Hospital requires a copy of your passport upon arrival and before your first scheduled appointment.

  4. Travel and transportation
    Our staff will advise you about the most convenient connections to the Taoyuan International Airport or Taipei Songshan Airport. A representative will meet you and your accompanying family members upon your arrival in the hospital. For your convenience, shuttle buses runs between the MRT Jiantan station and the hospital from 07:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Weekend shuttle services begin at 07:00 a.m. and end at 05:00 p.m. 

  1. Accommodations: 
    In addition to our own lodging facilities, International Healthcare Center maintains permanent contact with nearby hotels and residential housing services. Our representative will discuss with the patient and the family members to choose the most appropriate accommodation to stay in Taipei before their arrival.
